Factory software is incredibly valuable and important. Building it, is exceedingly difficult. Actyx is solving this problem. Our Industrial Application Platform (ActyxOS) allows developers to easily build and run powerful data-driven applications. This helps factories to answer questions and increase their performance. Over the last 3 years Actyx has grown to a team of 30 absolutely outstanding people, raised over 4 million EUR and is running in multiple factories in Europe.

Actyx is seeking a Junior Sales Development Manager (Junior SDM) for our thriving Sales team in our Munich HQ, to play a key role in building out our organisation and driving growth across the EU region., integrating closely with the field sales team to play a proactive role in account penetration and development.

About the role:

As a Junior SDM you will get to know enterprise software sales from the ground up. This includes being the first point of contact for potential customers in the sales cycle and being the face of Actyx at customer events and trade fairs.

The role of the Junior SDM is designed to be a 12-18 months ramp up program to become a Solution Sales Manager in the field Sales team at Actyx or other exciting positions at Actyx.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with Christopher Ziegler, VP Sales at Actyx, and support him and the rest of the Sales team throughout the whole sales cycle, starting with market research and lead generation, up to participating in customer meetings/calls and contract negotiations

  • You will learn everything about B2B lead generation and sales prospecting, and engage with marketing leads from trade shows, events, campaigns and other activities/sources

  • After being trained and onboarded, you will be  calling new prospects, using a combination of phone, social media and email gathering and gain valuable insights on  our customers’ situation, needs and decision processes

  • You will understand  both the business & technical challenges and determine if and how our potential customers  can benefit from an Actyx solution

  • Working closely with our Marketing department, you will be helping  to execute marketing campaigns and drive traffic to our online & offline events

  • You will use Hubspot, our Customer-Relationship-Management tool, to  manage and document your sales prospecting activities. You will constantly work on improving your own sales skills and help your team to find ways to improve the sales process and increase the results

  • You are an energetic, upbeat, tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills in German and English, a third language is a plus

  • You are comfortable working in a metric driven environment where daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance is gauged against documented standards

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience, technical background would be advantageous

Job Level: 1-2+ years of experience in a prospecting role (incl. Internships and Working Student Positions)
